Lake City, Florida (WCJB) – Officials at HCA Florida Lake City hosted a drop of cookies for scout girls in the Gateway Council on Friday afternoon, a distribution event for local forces to receive the customizer of the scout girls.
HCA Florida Lake City Hospital has helped decrease cookies by organizing and distributing more than 700 cases of cookies to four scout forces from the area.
“As a proud girl, I know closely the values of leadership, society and flexibility that is instilled in these young girls through their special forces activities,” said Lindsay Kovington, director of HCA Florida City Hospital and community participation. “The support of local forces in efforts to distribute cookies is not only related to selling cookies – it is related to enabling the next generation of female leaders. These young girls are gaining invaluable skills that will serve them for years to come.”
Girl Scout provides entrepreneurship opportunities for a scout girl to learn and develop her professional skills. The money collected from the cookie program remains locally and provides resources for girls’ scouts to become good individuals through various educational and entertainment programs.
“The real effect of Girl Scout Cookie is not measured in numbers,” said Girl Scouts of Gateway Wendy Dordel. “The most prominent result is the visual reinforcement of the girl’s confidence. It is courageous to bear the risks, believing in her ideas and capabilities, and pride in her achievements. It is the shift in how to see herself and her capabilities. Girl Scout Cookie provides the basis and develops skills that enable girls to make bold and studied decisions throughout their lives. “
The HCA Healthcare Foundation is a proud partner for girls’ scouts and funds a national grant to help develop the teaching of the mental wellness through the mental well -being program.
The program aims to teach girls in classes 4 to 12 to identify their feelings and understand them, deal effectively with the challenges of mental wellness, and a feeling of comfort in seeking help and supporting others.
