The Ministry of Health and Humanitarian Services in Michigan announced that there are the death of two deaths for children in Michigan in the 2024-2025 influenza season.
The two loyalty include children from the Wayne and Jennisi provinces who have influenza A (H1N1).
Many possible mortality -related deaths are being investigated in children, and health officials will make updates in the influenza concentration report in Michigan every week.
On the national level, at least 57 children died due to influenza this season, MDHHS said.
“We are saddened by the families who were exposed to this loss,” said Dr. Natasha Bagdiziaran, Medical Executive Director, in a statement. “Last season, influenza has claimed the lives of nearly 200 children throughout the United States. The influenza rates are currently very high, and if the influenza vaccine did not receive last fall, it is not too late to get one. Health officials say the outpatient clinic visits to a “influenza -like disease” are the highest over the past fifteen years in Michigan.
Since this influenza season began, there have been nearly 10,000 in the influenza hospital in Michigan, and the number of hospital visits related to influenza continued in the weekly increase since November 30.
In the week ending on Saturday, February 1, there were 2586 in the hospital, according to MDHHS.
Due to the high influenza rates in Michigan, health officials urge all the population for six months and above to obtain the influenza vaccine.
