Mental health care services set to expand in Comal County with new $8.5M facility

Kumal Province, Texas – The judge of the Kumal Deborah and Westington district often sees people who suffer from the mental health crisis in the courtroom, as well as law enforcement officers who face them in society.

People with suicide, murder or even psychosis are often people. In these cases, people are sent to the facilities in San Antonio, Kurville, or even Wako to check a mental facility.

Last year in Kumal Province, there were 581 emergency arrests through law enforcement in which the person was considered a threat to himself or others and transferred him to a mental health facility outside the Kumal Province.

There were 37 requested from the court to a mental facility, and another 54 was placed in the preventive reservation.

Wingington manages mental health court and says there are problems to send people away from their families. “We have to send them to other provinces to obtain this treatment. Once they are in other provinces, they are transferred away from their families, and they come out of their societies. We use community resources in the form of law enforcement to expel them from our society.”

About a year, the community will host a major opening of the 8.5 million dollars of the mental health facility near the Kumal Provincial Office in New Bronfes.

Hill Country MHDD CENTS will run the facility, and will be Anthony Wayne the manager.

The center works with 19 provinces in the region.

Wayne said that more beds will help the provinces along the I-35 corridor.

“This means that we are able to keep people closer to the home if they are in a crisis in the Kumal province,” he said. “This also means that there is a shorter law enforcement distance to drive when someone is transferred.”
