Marta Garcia, the hero of the former F1 Academy, reassured fans, recovering in the hospital after a frightening fire ball crashed in her car, full of smoke.
Garcia, the first F1 academy champion in 2023, was transferred to the hospital for precautionary searches after a high speed breakdown during the race in favor of Iron Dames in the LE MANS Cup on Saturday at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
Garia was topped by the GT3 category when the Porsche 911 was sent off the track after it was cut from the back by Elesio
The 24 -year -old was stuck in her car before the guards penetrated the door side to help her escape from the smoke -full cockpit.
“Yesterday, I faced one of the most difficult moments in my career,” Garcia wrote on Instagram, as well as a photo of her in the hospital, where she was transferred to preventive tests after inhaling some smoke. She was released from the hospital on Tuesday morning.
“I had a very severe accident in the circuit of the District de Barcelona, with an effect of 21 GS. Another driver from the back hit me and went directly to the tire barrier next to the wall.
“The fire caught fire, and although I managed to go out myself, I inhaled some smoke and felt dizzy after that.
“I could not open my home door because it was stuck from the effect, and I started feeling panic because more and more smoke was entering the car … until the goalkeeper broke the door of the participant and brought me out.
“I am very grateful to them on his reaction so quickly and the job they did.”
Dono, 20, was responsible for the accident and apologized for a statement on Instagram, saying: “I would sincerely apologize to Marta Garcia and the Iron Dames team for the accident during the Michelin Loman race in Montemmel.
“I take full responsibility for my actions on the right track. Sorry again.”
The Garcia Iron Dames team also issued a statement, expressing their “gratitude” to Marshals on the side of the track for their quick response.
“We are pleased to confirm that Marta Garcia is recovering well after its accident,” a statement said.
“After undergoing extensive medical examinations, it was cleared of any major injuries and has already returned to a smile. As a preventive measure, it remained under surveillance overnight and will be to evaluate a follow -up.
“We are expanding our gratitude to the medical teams alongside the medical path and the hospital teams, as well as for all fans to support them. Marta’s safety and safety remain our top, and we look forward to seeing them again on the right track soon.”
GARCIA won the ALL-Female-racing chain in 2023 and ran in the European Regional Championship in Formula last year, despite its failure to score a point in 20 races.
British driver Abbi Pulling won the F1 2024 Academy and will compete in the GB3 championship in 2025.
